Huayu Xianxiang was founded in January 2022 as an eVTOL R&D enterprise incubated by Northwestern Polytechnical University, known as the "cradle of the chief engineer". It is led by Hunan state-owned assets and invested in Angel Wheel, becoming one of the most promising "new forces" of eVTOL in China.

Headquartered in Changsha, Hunan Province, the research and development center is set up in Xi'an. Relying on the strength of the members of the Northwest Polytechnical University and the former national team of aviation industry, and based on the scientific research platforms such as the "Shaanxi Provincial Engineering Laboratory for Test Aircraft Design and Test Technology", the "Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for Aircraft Electric Propulsion Technology", and the "State Key Laboratory for Airfoil Cascade Aerodynamics" of the Western Polytechnical University, the center has many years of experience in serving national major scientific research projects such as C919 and 20 series. Master a large number of core and key technologies in the fields of overall design and optimization methods, unmanned aerial vehicle flight control system design and simulation technology, flight test methods and testing technology, dynamic system identification and modeling methods, unmanned aerial vehicle flight quality, environmental understanding and safety assessment technology, etc. Multiple technologies have reached the top level in China, and the team's disciplines cover the entire research and development lifecycle of the aircraft.

At present, the products under research mainly include the Honghu series electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) and the HY series unmanned aerial vehicles.
