On Monday, October 31, 2022, the "Honghu" eVTOL scaled technology verification aircraft developed by Shaanxi Huayu Xianxiang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. successfully flew at Xi'an Aerospace General Airport. This also means that the scene of the "electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft" appearing in science fiction works freely traversing the city will no longer be far away. Now, Shaanxi Huayu Xianxiang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. is turning it into reality.

In nearly a year, Huayu Xianxiang has completed flight tests of three different scaled down verification aircraft. The "Honghu" eVTOL scaled down verification aircraft for this test flight mainly aims to test the control strategy of the flight control system in real environments, help the research team further obtain the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft, improve the research team's further understanding of the prototype flight parameters in real environments, promote the further development and manufacturing of the "Honghu" eVTOL full-size prototype, promote the basic work of airworthiness certification, and accelerate the exploration and development of the application market.

Who are we?
Zepi Wanfang and Huayu Xianxiang, jointly established by Shaanxi Xigong University Science and Technology Park Co., Ltd. and the "Intelligent Aircraft Comprehensive Design Team" of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Northwestern Polytechnical University, established Shaanxi Huayu Xianxiang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., the first start-up technology company in Northwest China dedicated to the research and development of eVTOL machines, in January 2022.
Relying on the support conditions such as the State Key Laboratory of Aerodynamics for Airfoil Cascades, the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for Aircraft Electric Propulsion Technology, and the Shaanxi Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Test Aircraft Design and Test Technology, the team has been deeply engaged in the research and development of new concept electric aircraft for more than ten years, has served for many national major scientific research projects such as the "C919" large aircraft, and has successfully developed dozens of eVTOL experimental aircraft, including but not limited to lift fans, vector culverts, composite wings, tilt rotors, and other types of aircraft. The team adopts the "scientist+engineer" collaborative research and development mode, and has been engaged in innovative layout technology, aircraft aerodynamics and multidisciplinary design, distributed electric propulsion aircraft and its new energy application technology, flight control system technology, and flight testing. It has accumulated many years of research results in the field of flight quality assessment technology, reaching the industry leading level.

In October 2022, Huayu Xianxiang reached a cooperation intention with Xi'an Aerospace Investment Co., Ltd. In the future, it will deepen cooperation with Xi'an Aerospace Investment Co., Ltd. and continue to solidly carry out the development of advanced air traffic (AAM) series aircraft products.

What is "Honghu" eVTOL?
The "Honghu" eVTOL is China's first successfully tested six rotor fully tilt eVTOL aircraft, and is the flagship model launched by the team based on decades of accumulation of electric aviation technology. After a comprehensive balance between technology and various aspects, the team chose a six rotor three wing fully tilted configuration. In the nearly one-year research and development process, various verification work has steadily and smoothly progressed, and the team is confident in having the strength to enable the "Honghu" eVTOL to serve thousands of households in the future.
